What this place is
Mure is meant to be a small, cozy corner of the internet - part old-school forum, part blog, part guestbook - built to feel less like an algorithm-fed feed and more like the personal, small community of people talking about anything and everything. It's got communities to post in, blogs/diaries you control the privacy of, private messages, and profiles you can make your own.
Who's behind it
Hii! I'm Abigail Cirak. I'm a year 2 Computer Science student at The University of Nottingham! This website has been a passion project of mine for a while now. To be fully honest I built Mure mainly because of; some amount of nostalgia for the old web that I wasn't even alive to see, wanting a smaller alternative to mainstream social platforms without algorithms that benefit from wasting your time and keeping you on the website for hours at a time, and also a personal project to learn from!
Why it exists
As mentioned, Mure is my attempt at a small, slower, more personal space to meet people or talk to people you know, and an ongoing project I will keep adding to.
What's welcome here
Mure is a place for people to share, create, and connect. Be kind, respect others, and remember that there is a real person behind every profile and post, people seem too comfortable insulting people online these days due to being behind a screen, creativity, individuality, conversations, discussions, anything really is very much welcomed!! just be considerate of the people around you and keep things legal please.
